More about my first day in London

After me and Alex's hellish trip through the tube we finally get above ground in London. We notice that the hotel is at least a 20 minute walk so we hailed a black cab and got there so quickly. There Adrienne arrived soon after and we were driven to the townhouses where we're staying

As soon as I got it, I wasn't even unpacked and two guys living here want to go find some food. We ask one of the guys who works here and was setting up the flats to point us to a grocery store. He pointed us in the complete wrong direction, and we got a bit lost, but we ended up right back where we started somehow.

We sat down at a little cafe and got some food and coffee and hung around for a long time. Parts of this area aren't so nice. There's a lot of immigrants and public housing (they call them council estates) around here. Across the street is the Islamic Centre of England, a huge mosque (I think). Right outside our window and across the street from that is a pub called the Queen's Arms. It serves this uncarbonated, non-pasteurized ale made by Young's. The bartender is a nice guy.

I hear the others next door having fun, so I think I am going to go over and socialize. More on the last couple days later. I'll get up to date soon, I swear.
